Question:
I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend last night and she told me she started her period today, but it is a week early could she be pregnant?

A womans menstrual period is not always "on time"; bleeding can occur with or without pregnancy and it takes around 72 hours for a fertilized egg to implant into the endometrium. The only way to be certain about pregnancy is with a urine test (looking for HGH - human chorionic gonadotrophin) or blood test after the HGH has built up enough in the body. Cheers, Melissa BEE
