Question:
Can you get a pimple on your outer vaginal area. Situation: About 3 days ago I had sex with my boyfriend (we have been having sex for over 3 years, unprotected.. but i get tested every year and I havent had anything). Anyway when he inserted his penis I felt a little bit of discomfort not inside but like when his penis hit the outside. So I forgot about it but then when I was washing myself I found this bump its not on the lips but on about 2mm away from them. I touched it and it was very sore and to me it seemed like a pimple so I squeezed it. It hurt terribly, but I could feel some fluid come out. Now I was thinking maybe it could be a pimple or maybe an ingrown hair. Once it was "popped" it didnt hurt as much and its slowly going away. But Im wondering if maybe I should be more concerned about it. Like I said Ive been with my partner for over 3 years and we dont have sex with anyone else, so I dont think its herpes. If you could help I would really appreciate it.

Hi. Sounds like you answered your own question about the painful "bump" or "pimple" that appeared on the outside of your vagina. You ended up by saying "I should see a doctor: better safe than sorry." .. wise advise. Even if it is only an ingrown hair, your peace of mind is worth a visit to a doctor. Also : good for you for getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases once a year! Do you use contraception? I hope so! Reviewed by: Patricia Fawver Ph.D. in Sexology
