It sounds to me like your birth control method is not working correctly for your body, so you should go see your doctor that perscribed it to you so they can give you a type that works better with your body. Don't worry about being protected against pregnancy, when I say that the method you are using isn't "right" for your body just means that it needs to be fine tuned a little. Not that it isn't covering you against pregnancy, providing you are taking it CORRECTLY. I'm assuming that when you refer to your birth control you are referring to the pill. It is very important that you take the pill at the same time every day and not skip days as doing so messes with 1. when and how long you get your period and 2. it's effectiveness. The pill should REDUCE your periods, not legthen them so the doctor will most likely give another pill. Also, please be sure to tell them that you are experiencing back pain during your cycle. You do not have to suffer with pain just because you bleed, tell the doc and they will help you out. If you are not on the pill, please respond back and I will work with you on the next step for you, as this answer is all about if you are on the pill. Good luck and thanks for using sexualhealth.com!
