Like all other body parts, the labia minora are variable in size and shape. Women's labia are as unique as the individual woman — ranging in size, shape, color, and texture. Some labia are short, thick, and lumpy or "ruffled." Others are long, thin, and smooth. Some labia are closed together. Others lie farther apart. In childhood the labia minora are small and hence remain concealed. In adulthood, especially after childbirth, they enlarge and ‘hang out’.
Betty Dodson's Viva La Vulva! Women's Sex Organs Revealed is a good video that shows how each woman's labia are unique. The link on the right of this page is informative and illustrated.
