Question:
I am 25, female, and have genital warts on the INSIDE of my vagina, not externally. I am sure it is not herpes because even after taking zovirax for a month, the bumps did not go away and they are not blisters, but bumps. Anyway, is there really anything I can do to get rid of them? All of the treatments by my doctors and online are for external warts. What can be done about internal warts? I have had them for over 9 months, and they sometimes go away, but come bacinto holistic or natural medicines instead?

It sounds like you have Human Papillomavirus (HPV). This virus is present in most people, but in some it can advance into warty formations on any skin or mucus membrane surface, such as the vulva and vagina. You need to see a gynecologist or urologist and get treatment for this. S/he may need a tissue sample and maybe a blood test to determine if this is what is causing the lumps you describe. Medicated treatments such as tablets and/or creams can control the virus and get rid of some outbreaks. Your doctor will also need to give you some detailed information about the virus and shedding. It is possible to transmit HPV sexually. While it can be one of the least dangeous of sexually transmitted infections, you do need to understand it and minimize contact on outbreaks.
