Question:
What are the signs for HPV on men and the treatment for it? Also is there other ways to contract HPV besides sexual intercourse?

Answer:
by Yvonne Fulbright:
(05/29/2004)
HPV is a sexually transmitted infection that is transmitted not only through vaginal sexual intercourse, but through skin-on-skin contact during sex play, e.g., grinding, oral sex, or anal sex with an infected partner; through contact with infected towels or clothing, or through childbirth. The symptoms of an HPV for a male include: -painless warts or bumps on the genital and/or anal area, that may be raised or flat; - clusters of these warts/bumps; and - itching, pain, or bleeding. One may also be infected with HPV without knowing because it is an STD that does not always display symptoms. There is currently no cure for HPV. One can, however, get rid of the warts by having a physician freeze the warts off, by applying an anti-wart chemical compound, of through electrosurgery, laser therapy, or excisional biopsy.
