Question:
Ok, I am 20 years old and have only been sexually active with one person in the past year, I recently noticed very small white bumps that do not itch or bother me on the inside of my labia minora, my first thought was genital warts, but the guy that I have been with does not have them, could it be anything else, and if not if there a way I could have got them from something else because I have recently been to the tanning bed a few times.

Thanks for taking the time to write in with your question. Let me qualify anything I say by stating that 1) I am not a medical doctor and 2) One really can't make a diagnosis over the computer. The only way to know for sure is to vist a doctor or healthcare practitioner you trust and have it examined. IF you don't have a doctor, check out a family planning center like Planned Parenthood.

You say you've ruled out genital warts, based on the fact that the guy you've been with doesn't have them. How do you know this? Has he been tested or are you going by visual observation? Genital warts are often invisible to the naked eye and need to have a special swab in order to see them. Also, perhaps even more important, genital warts are merely the proverbial tip of the iceburg. What causes them is the human papilloma virus (HPV) and one can be infected with the virus and never get warts. Only a medical exam can show for sure.

What you describe could be any number of things, perhaps even nothing at all. As I said before, the only way to know for sure is to have yourself examined.

Sorry I couldn't answer you any more directly but I hope you understand. I wish you the best of luck and hope that it turns out to be nothing. Take care and be well. peace
