Question:
I noticed that my last girlfriend used to have a horrible smell from her vagina. This wasn't all the time, but we had unprotected sex and now, i seem to have something of that smell... It's normally appears with me, a couple of hours after i've urinated. I have no pain in passing water, but i'm wondering if it's urine that hasn't been passed properly.... My concern is, i have only had this smell since i had a sexual relationship with this girl. I'm thinking of going to my local clinic to get tested, but would like your advice first. This is stopping me from getting another girlfriend and it's making me depressed.

Hi: It is not pleasant to have a smell from your genitals or anyone else's! It is usually some type of vaginal infection that can be easily remedied. But these infections can also be passed back and forth during vaginal-penile contact. I would suggest you follow through with your own good idea to consult a doctor. She can do a simple examination and take a smear from your penis that can be examined under a microscope. I am not familiar with the cream you have tried but usually treatment for simple yeast infections need a prescription. Check it out and get rid of the smell and the worry at the same time! good luck and take care.
