Question:
For whoever can help me, i am a little bit on the nervous side regarding STDs. ive noticed today like 3 or 4 little bumps in my pubic area ( where the hair would be- i shave..) but they are really small and they almost look like pimples. but i guess i'm just assuming the worst in wondering if it could in fact be gentital herpes? i haven't had unprotected sex at all and i haven't received oral sex from someone with a coldsore or anything of that nature. so before i start to freak out could you please help on letting me know what it could/ might be?

Hello and thanks for taking the time to write in. Let me just say at the outset, to be totally correct and factual, that the only way to know for sure is to have a doctor of nurse practitioner examine you. Since I can't see or otherwise observe your condition, I can't make any kind of diagnosis. That said, from what you describe, you have a shaving rash, nothing more. It is very common to develop little bumps or pimple-like things in the area where you shave. Often, it is a slightly ingrown hair that causes it. It really isn't anything to worry about. Warm water, vitamine E lotion, aloe... these should help with any irritation. But, like I said in the beginning, the only absolute answer comes from direct examination. Take care and be well.
