Question:
I'm nervous about bladder incontinence, and petrified that an accident will ruin a sexual encounter.

Answer:

I recommend some prep work before sexual activity: catheterize ahead of time, and reduce your fluid intake. Use condoms to reduce the exchange of bodily fluids which can contribute to bladder infections and therefore to incontinence. As always, clear, open and honest communication can help ease anxiety. And if it still happens in spite of precautions, it might not be as humiliating as you think. Lizzi McNeff
