I'm not sure of any reliable statistics on anal sex, though I do recall seeing a figure in the 20% range not long ago... however, I can't confirm the validity of that number. In my experience, a majority of individuals have at least tried anal sex. Whether they like it enough to make a practice of it is an individual matter. However, much of the prejudice around anal sexuality stems from cultural misconceptions about the "dirtyness" of the area, the homosexual element (She: he likes anal sex, is he maybe gay?) and simple lack of education about how to perform anal sex so that it is pleasureable for both partners. I suggest Jack Morin, Ph.D.'s book, Anal Pleasure and Health, for comprehensive information.
