Question:
About a week ago I had anal sex with my boyfriend for the first time. I am still very sore and in pain. Could I have damaged anything severe and need to see a doctor ?

Anal intercourse is not easy. Vaginas are made to take a penis in, but your rectum is designed to push things out. That muscle around the opening is tight (so nothing falls out). It is hard for most women to relax enough to have anal intercourse and it will hurt. Plus, your anus and rectum does not lubricate itself like your vagina. In addition, there are health risks to anal intercourse, both for the man and for the woman. If you there has been blood running out or in your stools each day, there may be reason for concern. However, if you are just sore from being stretched and that seems to be less each day, there is probably no reason to worry. But, read about anal intercourse if you want to practice it... but to be quite honest, the easiest and safest kind of intercourse remains putting the penis into a well lubricated vagina. Robert W.
