Question:
I am single, unattached and have been indulging in masturbation very often (1-2 daily). Just recently, i went to see a urologist and he said i have an inflamation of my postrate gland (burning feeling near my anus). Recently, when i masturbate, i have very low sperm count in my ejaculation. Sometimes none to be seen! I am not sure if it is the antibiotics side effects OR it is due to exessive masturbation. i understand that certain drugs can have negative effects on reproduction. Can you tell me whats the possible cause? Do u think by stop masturbating for a week would see a difference?

The name of the antibiotics i am taking is Tarvid. I am also advised that i shouldnt take suppliments that contains calsium and zinc during this medication. What will be the effects if i take calsium?

Hello, Thank you for your question.

Masturbation alone will not cause prostatitis, nor is it responsible for a low or diminishing sperm-count. This relates more to the causes of the prostatitis, which I cannot possibly tell you. You are no doubt having tests for your doctor to determine the cause, so be patient and give it some to time to establish the cause. Your doctor or pharmacist is the best one/s to explain medication interactions to you. In the meantime, if the doctor thinks it is wise to avoid certain things, I would do so and get him to explain why. He may not know you have questions unless you speak up.

Best Wishes
