A proper medical examination is required to evaluate the physical &b psychological factors related to the feelings of genital numbness and the penile size and deformity.
Premature (rapid) Ejaculation is generally defined as ejaculation occurring before the patient wishes it, because of recurrent and persistent absence of reasonable control over ejaculation and orgasm during sexual activity.
Studies have shown that it affects 30% - 60% of all males. The hypersensitive ejaculatory reflex is usually psychogenic. Some theories suggest it might be related to performance anxiety; over concern with pleasing the partner or unresolved marital problems. Rarely it is related to a physical disorder.
After a proper medical evaluation, the physician either prescribes medications or certain techniques to control the ejaculation. Frequently the Squeeze technique & start stop technique (Semans manoeuvre) are described to treat premature ejaculation. In the squeeze technique, the wife stimulates the penis then squeezes the glans (head of the penis) firmly when the husband signals he is about to ejaculate. In the start stop technique, stimulation is stopped before ejaculation is inevitable & then resumed once more. The cycle is repeated over & over again. A sex therapist would be the appropriate professional to explain the details of these exercises to the couple.
