Question:
I'm worried that I have far too many visible veins on my penis, and some of them are very dark red or purple, is this something to see a doctor about? I don't feel any particular pain but the veins look quite worrying.

Hi and thanks for your question. Having a large number of veins in your penis is nothing to be worried about, and in fact is not something that a doctor could do anything about. The veins in your penis are there to return the blood that enters the penis during an erection back to the heart. That's why we have so many of them. If it were possible, removing those veins could lead to some serious medical issues with your penis, most notably priapism (an erection that lasts for four or more hours). Your body is nothing to be worried about or ashamed of. I wish you the best of luck. Take care, Scott Gross
