I do not want to lecture on the evils of unprotected sex but it is unfortunate that you have fallen prey to it. Though Hep B does not have a permanent cure as yet, today a number of better treatment options are available. Please visit a physician experienced in therapy of HepB, for treatment.

Your partner can be protected from HepB if he is vaccinated against it. There are separate vaccines for use before and after a person is exposed to hepatitis B, but the one to be used after exposure is more effective if given within 14 days of exposure.

CDC website provides comprehensive information on various types of hepatitis- please visit.
