Question:
Hello doctor. i would very much like to know if a woman can get pregnant when she has sexual intercourse 1 or 2 days before her menstruation. she's got irregular menstruation cycle and she said she have not menstruated for 2 months. when we did it, i only got partial penetration since she is technically a virgin and i withdraw during ejaculation. i appreciate ur response

If she had her period after you had intercourse it is unlikely that she is pregnant. However, with periods being irregular it is impossible to know when the fertile days happen. Be sure to always use condoms or other form for birth control. As already suggested, do use the pregnancy test as well. Best wishes, Annette Owens, MD PhD
