Question:
I have been having sex with my boyfriend. We are always very careful. We always use a condem and spermicide. The condem has never broken. I am three days late for my period. Am I overeacting to be worried about pregnency since I am late? My breasts are swollen and there is a dischrage but this is normal when I am going to have my period. Should I be worried about pregnency?

The signs of pregnancy are very much the same as pre-menstrual symptoms: tender, swollen breasts, discharge, mood and appetite changes... Since you and your boyfriend have been careful in protecting yourselves, chances are unlikely that you're pregnant. Your period may be late because you've been stressed out, have changed your diet, haven't been sleeping enough, have been sick... There are so many reasons why you may not be on schedule. If you think that you're pregnant, try taking a home pregnancy test to determine whether or not you have reason to worry. Thank you for visiting the Sexual Health Network. Yvonne K.
