Here's what participants in a survey I conducted of 1400+ men and women ages 50 and older,had to say: "Health care providers should: 1.spend time with older adults 2.use clear and easy-to-understand words 3.help older adults feel comfortable talking about sex 4.be open minded and talk openly 5.listen 6.treat older adults with a respectful and nonjudgemental attitude 7.encourage discussion 8.give advice or suggestions, and 9.need to understand that 'sex is not just for the young' Reference: "Older adults suggestions for health care providers regarding discussions of sex" Geriatric Nursing , vol 18, #2, Mar-Apr 1997, pp65-66
