HELLO,
I AM A 36 YEAR OLD MALE WHO HAS LOST HIS BEST FRIEND OF 19 YEARS TO CERVIX CANCER SO MY QUESTION IS HOW LONG DOES THIS CANCER HAVE TO BE GROWING TO GET TO THE FINAL STAGE.I REALLY WANT SOMETIME FRAME OF SOME KIND SHE WAS 58 YEARS OLD WHEN SHE PASSED ON.

Your question is a difficult one because some types of cervix cancer (squamous variety) tend to be slow growing and easily picked up (as early PRE cancers)on routine annual pap smears that women get at GYN visits. Other types (adeno) can be very aggressive and fast growing and can be difficult to detect until very late in the process. My condolences for your loss.Reviewed by: Scott Gross M. Ed.
